THE INFLUENCE OF BUDGETING ON RESOURCE ALLOCATION
The objectives of this research are to: (1) analyze the impact of budgeting on resource allocation, (2) identify the key benefits of effective resource allocation through budgeting, and (3) evaluate the challenges associated with budgeting for resource allocation. A survey design was chosen to gather insights from financial managers and operational leaders. Using Taro Yamane's formula, a sample size of 379 participants from corporate organizations in Lagos was determined, ensuring comprehensive insights. The corporate sector was chosen for its structured resource allocation processes and potential for budgeting impact. The reliability coefficient score of the survey was 0.88. Findings indicate that effective budgeting significantly improves resource allocation by providing clear financial guidelines, aiding in optimal resource distribution and utilization. Recommendations include integrating resource allocation processes with budgeting cycles, providing training on effective resource allocation techniques, and continuously monitoring and adjusting budgets to ensure optimal resource use.
